Overview

Sudu, meaning “home” in the native Fulah language, represents an unwavering commitment to providing children with the loving homes they deserve. Founded by Janice Williams, whose personal journey from the turmoil of Sierra Leone’s civil war to the embrace of a nurturing family ignited the creation of Sudu, we embody the belief that every child deserves the stability and care of a loving household, and we are steadfast in our commitment to making that a reality.

Our small yet dynamic team is driven by a shared commitment to our mission and the children we serve, and the impact of our work is deeply humbling and profound. Our team is dedicated to not only placing children in safe environments but also ensuring their holistic development through comprehensive support and education, a foundation for lifelong success. Placing and fostering a child is a complex and demanding endeavour, yet the rewards are immeasurable when witnessing the transformative journey of a child toward a brighter future. Through our family-based care approach, Sudu not only secures nurturing environments for children, but also equips families with the tools and knowledge needed to nurture growth.

As we continue to expand our reach and impact, we aspire to enhance our team’s capacity to thrive in demanding settings, where every obstacle presents an opportunity for immense growth. If you are someone who shares our passion for making a positive impact, leads by example, embraces challenges and drives growth, Sudu welcomes you to join us!
