As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Accountant to strengthen our financial systems, support operational efficiency, and ensure sound financial management across its production and service lines.
Key Purpose
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of E CUT, to ensure accurate record-keeping, effective cost control, and compliance with financial regulations. The role will support decision-making by providing timely financial insights around production costs, pricing, and profitability across the company’s diverse service offerings.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, real-time records of raw materials and finished goods, including monitoring stock levels, tracking material usage per job, and conducting regular stock counts to ensure alignment between physical inventory and financial records.
- Analyse and manage production costs across all services by breaking down cost components such as materials, labour, and machine usage, with a focus on improving cost efficiency and supporting accurate pricing.
- Prepare and manage invoicing for all client jobs, including customised, bulk, and staged projects, while tracking payments, following up on outstanding balances, and maintaining up-to-date receivables records.
- Oversee supplier-related financial processes by maintaining supplier records, verifying and processing invoices against purchase orders and deliveries, and providing insights to support cost-effective procurement decisions.
- Track and report on financial performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including monitoring sales, expenses, and cash flow, and producing summaries and full reports (profit and loss, cost analysis, and product performance) to inform management decisions.
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ACCA, ICA-SL, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a production, manufacturing, or service-based environment.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, tax requirements, and compliance standards in Sierra Leone.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in tracking stock and costs across multiple product lines.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into business insights.
- High level of organisation and consistency in reporting (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Good communication skills for working with production, sales, and management teams.
- Commercial awareness, especially around pricing and profitability.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to identify and fix inefficiencies quickly.
