Overview

E CUT is a creative production company specialising in high-quality artistic printing, laser engraving, signage fabrication, and customised branding solutions. With a strong emphasis on precision, innovation, and customer satisfaction, the company delivers a wide range of products across materials such as metal, wood, acrylic, glass, and stone.

As part of our fabrication and signage operations, we are seeking an experienced Welder to support the production of durable, high-quality metal structures used in signage, frames, display units, and customised installations. The role is hands-on and requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes within a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

Key Purpose

The Welder is responsible for executing high-quality welding and metal fabrication work to support E CUT’s production of signage, frames, structural supports, and custom-built items. The role ensures that all welding tasks are completed accurately, safely, and in line with design specifications and production timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out welding and fabrication of metal components for signboards, frames, stands, and other customised products, ensuring strong, clean, and durable finishes.
  • Interpret technical drawings, measurements, and job specifications to accurately cut, shape, assemble, and weld metal parts in line with design requirements.
  • Prepare materials and surfaces prior to welding, including cutting, grinding, and alignment, ensuring precision and minimal material waste.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated items to ensure quality standards are met, make adjustments or repairs where necessary.
  • Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure fabrication aligns with client specifications, especially for customised and branded projects.
  • Maintain and operate welding equipment and tools safely, ensuring proper usage and routine maintenance to avoid downtime.
  • Support installation of fabricated items (e.g. signboards, metal frames, structures) at client sites when required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including the proper use of protective equipment and safe handling of materials.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines across multiple projects without compromising quality.

Education and Knowledge

  • Proven experience as a welder (minimum 3-5 years), preferably in fabrication, construction, or signage production.
  • Formal training or certification in welding and fabrication is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of different welding techniques (e.g. arc welding, MIG, TIG) and metal types.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately.
  • Familiarity with fabrication tools such as grinders, cutters, and measuring equipment.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices within a workshop and on-site environment.

Skills and Competencies

  • High level of workmanship with strong attention to detail and finishing quality.
  • Practical problem-solving skills, especially when working on customised or non-standard projects.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating with a wider production team.
  • Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks in a workshop and site environment.
  • Reliable, disciplined, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
