Company Overview

AH&M Limited is a Sierra Leonean manufacturer that has been producing quality plastic products since 2004. From water tanks and pipes to packaging materials, our products serve practical needs across the country. We are looking for an experienced HR Officer to support the people behind our factory and warehouse operations and help us maintain a well-organised, respectful workplace.

 

Role purpose

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day HR administration and employee relations for a busy production and warehouse operation. HR Officer will maintain accurate attendance, leave, payroll and personnel records, support fair and consistent application of company rules and provide managers (including CFO for payroll matters) with reliable HR information and practical advice.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Attendance and payroll support

  • Collect and check attendance and overtime records from departments
  • Identify missing entries and discrepancies and maintain accurate spreadsheets
  • calculate payroll inputs, leave balances and applicable benefits
  • Submit verified information to the CFO for review and payment approval

 

Employee records and documentation

  • Maintain confidential personnel files, signed contracts, employee details and HR registers
  • Prepare employment letters, contract documentation, confirmations and routine correspondence track probation, renewals and other key dates

 

Leave and benefits administration

  • Record leave requests and approvals
  • Calculate balances and entitlements in line with company policy and applicable requirements
  • Communicate accurate information to employees and managers

 

Employee relations and discipline

  • Respond to employee queries, support supervisors in addressing conduct and attendance concerns
  • Document meetings and incidents, and prepare warning letters when authorised
  • Apply established rules consistently, with a fair opportunity for the employee to respond appropriate approval and complete records.

 

HR compliance and reporting

  • Help ensure HR processes and records align with applicable labour requirements and company policies
  • Flag gaps or disputes promptly to the management
  • Prepare simple regular reports on headcount, attendance, overtime, leave, disciplinary cases and staffing issues

 

Operational coordination

  • Work with production and warehouse supervisors to obtain timely, accurate information
  • support onboarding and exit administration
  • Communicate approved HR procedures clearly to staff and managers

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least five years of practical HR or personnel administration experience, including responsibility for a sizeable operational workforce preferably in a factory, warehouse or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to manage attendance, leave, payroll inputs and employee records accurately, with sound working knowledge of relevant Sierra Leone labour requirements
  • Able to handle employee relations matters firmly, respectfully and confidentially, and to prepare clear written letters and records
  • Confident reading and writing English and using basic Excel for calculations and tracking, alongside Word and email. Familiarity with HR or payroll software is useful but not essential
  • Good judgement, organisation and follow-through; able to work with supervisors and employees at different levels and manage competing deadlines
