Role Purpose
The company is seeking a motivated and hands-on Operations Lead to coordinate and support their day-to-day operational functions. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role is responsible for supporting project delivery, maintaining inventory and supply chain processes, coordinating field teams, and ensuring a high standard of client service. The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, and eager to grow within Sierra Leone’s expanding renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Project Support
- Assist in the planning and coordination of solar installation projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Track project schedules, resource allocations, and task progress to support on-time and
- within-budget delivery.
- Liaise with installation teams to schedule site visits, assessments, and commissioning activities.
- Follow up on open project actions, flag delays to the CEO, and help implement corrective measures.
- Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all field operations.
Supply Chain, Inventory & Warehousing
- Coordinate the procurement and receipt of solar panels, inverters, batteries, cables, mounting hardware, and accessories.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and reconciliation of physical and system quantities.
- Assist with organising warehouse layout and ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Process purchase orders, delivery notes, and shipping documents in coordination with suppliers and logistics partners.
- Flag low stock levels and assist with demand planning to avoid supply disruptions on active projects.
Team Coordination & Support
- Coordinate daily task assignments for field technicians, installers, and warehouse staff.
- Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth handoffs between project phases.
- Escalate operational issues promptly and contribute to resolving day-to-day challenges.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as an operational point of contact for clients, following up on site visits, installations, and post-installation queries.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and contractors to confirm schedules, access requirements, and material deliveries.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals, quotations, and client correspondence under the guidance of management.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate operational records including project trackers, stock logs, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare weekly operational summaries and updates for the CEO.
- Identify recurring process gaps and suggest practical improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in an operations, project coordination, or supply chain role, preferably in the energy, solar, or construction sector.
- Hands-on experience coordinating field teams and tracking project deliverables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general project tracking tools.
- Familiarity with solar energy systems, components, and installation processes is an advantage.
- Experience with inventory management or warehouse operations is an added advantage.
