Role Purpose:

The primary purpose of this role is to manage all administrative functions of the company’s Sustainability department and follow up on certification audit planning and scheduling with Certification Bodies and other relevant stakeholders. This role also manages all relevant social and environmental-related projects between external stakeholders and Planting Naturals/ GT.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sustainability Manager in the implementation of the GT/PN Sustainability Objectives.
  • Play a leading role in the planning and implementation of internal sustainability projects.
  • Follow up with Certification Bodies to ensure that Certification Audits are promptly planned and executed according to the company’s Annual Certification Audit Schedules.
  • Engaging external stakeholders (community, government, non-governmental, project partners, etc.) on relevant ESG and Sustainability-related concerns, programs, or projects.
  • Planning, organising, and implementing relevant Social and Environmental projects.
  • Ensure the proper filing and organisation of documentation related to Sustainability and certification audits.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports of activities. 
  • Cary out performance management functions of the department.
  • Any other duties as reasonably assigned. 

 

Education and Knowledge

  • Relevant academic education in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Development, or any other relevant field.
  • Knowledge of palm oil supply chain. 
  • Knowledge of environmental management, assessments, development, and socio-economic issues.
  • Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems is preferred. 
  • Relevant work experience with certification processes, developing action plans, and managing a large number of farmers is necessary.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • At least 3 years of experience with managing major Social and Environmental Projects
  • Efficient communication, negotiation, and social skills.
  • Good planning, organising, and implementation skills.
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a challenging and dynamic environment. (Adaptability)
  • Good report writing, presentation, and analytical skills. 
  • Efficient with Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
