About Capitol Foods:
Capitol Foods Limited (Capitol) is the first and only bottled fruit juice producer in Sierra Leone under the iconic Sierra brand.
Their mission is to nurture lives whilst empowering farmers. Capitol Foods provides a stable market for 5,000+ Sierra Leonean fruit farmers by sourcing fruit directly from them. Also, they are an AECF challenge winner and actively support our farmers by providing training to make their production more efficient and profitable.
Today, they offer five juice flavours: Mango, Pineapple, Tropical, Ginger and Apple, packaged in 500ml bottles. Their water is packaged in 500ml and 1.5L bottles.
Key Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for creating and executing a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends the company’s national and regional reach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a sales network made up of multiple pillars:
- Major Distributors.
- Zonal Distribution Centres.
- Guerrilla Sales Force.
- Key Accounts.
- Manage, train, and provide overall guidance to the Sales Team within the various areas of activity and planned expansion.
- Setting, monitoring, and reporting on sales targets to be achieved by the team.
- Applying a hands-on and practical managerial approach which involves market presence, travel and regular market consultation and visits.
- Identifying and developing potential markets, sales channels, and competition and proposing effective sales strategy plans for account expansion and development with a focus on quarterly and monthly KPIs.
- Utilising technology and training the team in using it to ensure that all outlets are registered and that sales transactions are adopted within the Sales app.
- Manage associated sales logistics by monitoring and managing the logistics team/assets attached to sales. This is to ensure an agile and dynamic sales activity that is pre-emptive and mitigates the risks of shops. This would include, but is not limited to, the management of:
- Drivers.
- Vehicles.
- Relationship Management – managing the above whilst maintaining all relevant internal and external relationships.
- Implementing functional HRMS and internal databases across all departments and locations
- Overseeing our payroll and performance evaluation systems.
- Review and update our employment contracts and agreements.
- Develop and implement departmental budget.
- Measure the effectiveness of our benefits programs and recommend improvements.
Education and Knowledge
- Associated qualification in Business, Marketing, Communications and/or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales.
- Willingness to be field based and expansion focused.
- Ability to ride motorbike preferred.
- Experience working within the FMCG sector.
