Job Summary/ Purpose:

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various projects, in compliance with the relevant codes, standards and guidelines for all projects executed or managed by 2E Systems Ltd.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Develop detailed designs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using relevant software.
  • Conduct engineering take-offs and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

 

Project Management:

  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of MEP systems and projects.
  • Monitor project progress/ scoping reviews, budget, justification of MEP change work order, and timelines to ensure timely completion and compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess installation quality and resolve any issues that may arise.

 

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases for all MEP projects.
  • Review and evaluate existing MEP systems to identify opportunities for improvements and upgrades.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance the company’s competitive edge.

 

Compliance and Safety:

  • Execute periodic site assessments to monitor quality and compliance with local building codes, regulations, and standards for MEP works/ systems being executed.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to minimise risks and hazards on-site.

 

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit reports, memoranda, tender evaluation reports, monthly reports and all other required correspondence.

 

Training and Development:

  • Develop top talent within the organisation by fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers, empowering them to reach their full potential and contribute to overall success.

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP design and project management is required. 
  • Proficiency in CAD software, and knowledge of AutoCad, Revit MEP, DIAlux and SketchUp, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Ability to work on solar power systems designs and generator installations.
  • Licensed Engineer preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of MEP engineering practices, building codes, plans and technical specifications, procedures, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
