Key Purpose:

The IT Solutions and Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing the rollout, coordination, and supervision of the smallholder app’s implementation, ensuring accurate data, regular checks, and corrective measures. He/she will oversee the communication and visibility of the company through communication plans and proposals and act as the main contact person for users of the smallholder app.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Information Technology 

  • Organize training and sensitization for app users such as internal inspectors, and coops secretaries and ensure full implementation and expected results.
  • Support to technical assistance team for app related matters.
  • Ensure regular communication and coordination as a central point with the app developers and project manager in HQ.
  • Lead in the roll out of new technologies and tools across the organisation.

 

Monitoring and Supervision 

  • Conduct daily meetings to provide instructions to the team and utilize monitoring tools to follow up on their work output.
  • Supervise and manage a team (administrative assistants, GIS coordinators) and the daily activities of the field inspectors.
  • Coordinate the purchase and collection lists.
  • Coordinate the work of the team, including field inspectors for effective work with correct data on digitizing purchase documents, mapping, and internal inspections.
  • Develop an implementation plan with timelines and KPIs to deliver within the timelines.
  • Prepare weekly work plan for inspections, mapping, and syncing activities with monitoring tools.

 

Communication Role

  • Prepare communication plans in phase with the needs of the company for specific and general activities, in consultation with management.
  • Make proposals of communication to ensure the promotion of the company and its activities on both national and international levels.
  • Produce communication tools like videos, audio messages, radio communications, etc.
  • Any other duties as reasonably assigned.

 

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in rural areas with field-based support responsibilities
  • Experience in International groups and rural production would be a plus.
  • Full knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, especially Excel is required.
  • Proven IT skills in the maintenance of software and hardware is required.
  • Flexible to move from one station to another.
