Key Purpose

APCON Enterprise (SL) LTD is working on the solar PV installation of 404 stand-alone systems across Sierra Leone.

APCON Enterprise (SL) LTD is seeking four (4) Drivers to work at the Sierra Leone project office. The candidates will be responsible for safely transporting company staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations promptly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management.
  • Safely transport company staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations on time.
  • Assist with the loading and offloading of staff luggage, products, and materials.
  • Adjust travel routes to avoid traffic congestion, road construction, inaccessible routes, and safe tracks.
  • Promptly inform the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during working hours.
  • Ensure that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing.
  • Provide accurate time records of the company vehicle’s comings and goings.
  • Represent the company positively and professionally in interaction with customers and the public.
  • Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
  • Keep mileage record and repair records up to date.
  • Inspect the vehicle regularly for minor problems and physical damage.
  • Ensure to always fuel the vehicle and be ready to use before the scheduled plan.
  • Keep the company’s dress code.
  • Make sure that newly purchased spare parts are replaced properly and the damaged (spared) item is returned to the store.
  • Keep the preventive maintenance schedule in a regular base.
  • Monitor and follow up on the repair and maintenance of vehicle undertaking at the outsourced garage.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean and comfortable for passengers.

 

Education and Knowledge

  • Diploma/Vocational/technical school certificate.
  • 3+ years’ experience in driving.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS or maps.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and observance of protocol.
  • Absolute discretion and the ability to keep information seen or heard in confidence.
  • Formal appearance and dress at all times.
