Job Summary/ Purpose

The Aurora Impact Programme Manager will be responsible for Planning, organising, and ensuring the smooth running of all programming, including courses and Accelerator/Start-up programs, under the Aurora Impact program. The candidate will contribute to the strategic direction of Aurora Impact programming and focusing on the long-term sustainability of the program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Continuously striving to improve and develop the entire Aurora Impact program, ensure quality standards are maintained and implement regular performance assessments of the program.
  • Organise and host all events under the Aurora Impact program, including Inspirational talks
  • Manage the day-to-day work of other staff members under the Aurora Impact program.
  • Liaise with other start-ups and entrepreneurial centres in Freetown to create a beneficial ecosystem for our center, including attending events in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Plan and write proposals for donor opportunities and reports for ongoing donor projects. 
  • Plan and collect data for KPI measurement and OKRs related to the Aurora Impact program. 
  • Formulation of budgets for new projects and monitoring spending in accordance with the budgets of ongoing programs. 
  • Enhance and maintain the mentorship program for entrepreneurs in Aurora´s Accelerator/Start-up programs, including identifying suitable local and international mentors and serving as the primary contact for mentors.
  • Organise and conduct Aurora Impact advisory meetings, including setting agendas and writing minutes.
  • Engage with and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, sponsors, and participants.
  • Identify potential risks to the program and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Submit quarterly reports to the Executive Director on main activities, issues, and other developments, for subsequent presentation to the Aurora Foundation board.
  • Being one of the three persons (alongside the Executive Director and the Country Manager) responsible for the daily opening and closing of the Aurora office.

 

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • A Master’s degree in Business related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, project management, or a related field, preferably in the entrepreneurship or startup ecosystem. 
  • Proven track record of managing programs, including budget management and reporting to donors.
  • Experience in designing, coordinating, and implementing workshops, training programs, and events.
  • Experience in proposal writing and liaising with donors or funding organizations.
  • In-depth understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and startup culture.
  • Knowledge of best practices in program and project management.
