Key Purpose
The Accounting and Finance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization. This role includes managing accounting staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. The Supervisor plays a key role in financial planning, analysis, and process improvements to support the organization’s financial health.
Role and Responsibilities
Supervision and Team Management:
• Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting and finance team, including accountant, finance assistant and other team member.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to enhance team performance and professional development.
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage team dynamics to foster a productive work environment.
• Delegate tasks and monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Review financial statements for discrepancies and resolve issues as they arise.
Accounting Operations:
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
• Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of transactions, including bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, including expense reports, invoices, and payments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation and management of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and financial projections.
• Analyze budget variances and provide insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Support departments with budget planning and financial analysis.
Compliance and Controls:
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of internal controls and accounting procedures.
Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting and financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop, document, and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for financial processes
• Evaluate and recommend updates to financial systems and software to meet evolving needs.
Financial Analysis:
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and financial performance metrics.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial data and analysis.
• Prepare financial summaries, reports, and presentations for management review.
Audit and Internal Controls:
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring the availability of required documentation and addressing audit findings.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions, as necessary.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment to prevent fraud and financial misstatements.
Financial Systems Management:
• Oversee the use and maintenance of accounting software and financial systems.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy within financial systems and resolve system-related issues.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance system functionality and integration.
Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and present financial reports to management, including summaries of financial performance and key metrics.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records, documentation, and supporting materials.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to regulatory agencies, if applicable.
Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as a liaison between the finance department and other departments to address financial/accounting issues and provide support.
• Communicate financial information and updates to management, head office, and other stakeholders as needed.
Projects:
• Participate in projects and initiatives as required, including financial planning, system upgrades, and process improvements.
• Provide financial expertise and support for project development and implementation.
Strategic Support:
• Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and business plans.
• Provide financial insights and support for strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
Other Responsibilities:

• Provide support during mergers, acquisitions, or other significant financial changes.
• Address and resolve financial discrepancies and issues promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold ethical standards in all financial practices.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager and General Manager.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle etc.).
• Experience in an international group is a plus.
